Some researchers believe that HL is a stronger predictor of health as compared to variables such as age, sex, income, employment status, education level, and race [1]. HL can be an effective factor in increasing health behaviors such as adoption of preventive behaviors [2]. Studies on the relationship between HL and the adoption of preventive behaviors report controversial results. While the results of a study indicate that there is no significant relationship between HL and mammography [3], other studies in this regard have concluded that a low level of HL are related to the adoption of less preventive behaviors such as screening tests [4], performing less Pap smear and breast self-examination [2], less involvement in mammography, doing less physical activity and smoking [5], and performing less screening of prostate and colorectal cancers [3].}, Keywords = {The findings of the above studies indicate the potential effect of HL on adoption}, volume = {8}, Number = {2}, pages = {93-94}, publisher = {}, doi = {10.29252/jrh.8.2.93}, url = {http://jrh.gmu.ac.ir/article-1-1513-en.html}, eprint = {http://jrh.gmu.ac.ir/article-1-1513-en.pdf}, journal = {Journal of Research and Health}, issn = {2423-5717}, eissn = {2423-5717}, year = {2018} } @article{ author = {Golparvar, Mohsen and Sadeghi, Sheida and Mosahebi, Mohammad Rez}, title = {Developement of supervisor\'s bullying questionnaire at workplace}, abstract ={Bullying is one of behaviors which occur in various forms at workplaces. Considering the lack of instrument to assess supervisor's bullying in workplaces of Iran, this research was carried out to constructing and studying reliability and validity of supervisor's bullying questionnaire at workplace. Statistical population of this research was all of Isfahan oil refinery’s staff that 402 participants was chosen as participant by simple random sampling mehod. The tools included perceived organizational justice questionnaire, organizational citizenship behaviors questionnaire and deviant behaviors questionnaire which used for studying convergent and divergent validity of researcher-made questionnaire of supervisor's bullying. Data were analyzed by using confirmatory and exploratory factor analysis, canonical correlation coefficient (for studying convergent and divergent validity) and reliability coefficient (Cronbach’s alpha and test- retest reliability). Results showed that supervisor's bullying questionnaire has five factor structures which named: supervisors’ threat, insult and scorn by supervisor, anger and revengefulness of supervisor, ignorance and unconventional work pressure of supervisor, supervisors’ boring and cheap. Cronbach’s alpha for the five factors was equal to 0.87, 0.84, 0.82, 0.81, 0.81, and test-retest reliability for those five factors was equal to 0.81, 0.59, 0.58, 0.83, and 0.77. Due to the increased rate of mothers' employment and education along with children malnutrition, the effect of mothers’ socioeconomic status on children’s health was examined in this study. In case study, data on children at birth were gathered from health care records in 10 health centers of Tehran. The sample size of 400 was determined using the Cochran formula with an error margin of 5%. The cases were selected through random cluster sampling. The probit, probit with endogenous variable, and ordered probit models were employed. The mean mother's education was at the level of 3.76, representing higher than diploma and lower than associate degrees. The mean mothers' age, whose children were normal, stunting, and severe stunting, was 32.25, 32.92, and 34.20, respectively. The mothers' employment and education level increased the likelihood of stunting by 93 and 37 percent, respectively. Therefore, mother's employment had a negative effect on child health; i.e. mother's employment increases the possibility of stunting probably because of child malnutrition. Mental health is affected by many variables, the most important of which are personality traits. The aim of this study was to examine general health and its relationship with personality traits among mothers of children with special needs. This study used a comparative design. The statistical population of the current study included all mothers of children with special needs in Zahedan. The sample of the present study consisted of 240 mothers of children with cerebral palsy, autism, mental retardation, or physical retardation in Zahedan selected using convenience sampling method. To collect data, the 60-Item NEO personality inventory and the general health questionnaire were used. The results indicated a significant difference between mothers of children with cerebral palsy, autism, mental retardation, or physical retardation in terms of their general health. Among the NEO five-factor personality traits, neuroticism was positively correlated with general health while conscientiousness, extraversion, and agreeableness were negatively related to general health. However, no significant relationship was found between openness and mothers’ general health. Moreover, the results showed that among the NEO five-factor personality traits, the subscales of neuroticism, conscientiousness, agreeableness, extraversion, and openness respectively played the most important roles in predicting the level of general health among the mothers.
