Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of group Logo therapy in reducing depression and increasing sense of hope in people addicted to drugs. This experimental pretest posttest control group. The study population consisted of addicts attending a methadone treatment centers for drug addiction city Ghorveh (Niko Salamat) was in 1392. The sample size of 60 patients admitted to drug addiction clinics were selected based on a random sample, then, based on questionnaire scores of 20 patients who received the highest scores on the Beck Depression Inventory questionnaire scores were lowest life expectancy Schneider and colleagues selected. Randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group received 10 sessions of one and a half hour group Logo therapy were treated control group did not receive any treatment. For data analysis, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (ANCOVA) was used. Results showed that depression scores at post-test and post-test mean scores of the experimental group significantly lower than the control group, And the average life expectancy in the post-test scores of the experimental group significantly higher than the mean posttest control group. It is concluded that group Logo therapy approach to reducing depression and increasing life expectancy of people addicted to drugs effective.
