en ● Health Education مقاله اصيل پژوهشي Orginal Article <div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Background</strong>: Nurse&ndash;patient communication plays a vital role in patients&rsquo; recovery, and assessing how nurses communicate with patients is crucial. This study aimed to assess the psychometric properties of the health literacy (HL) nurse&ndash;patient communication questionnaire based on HL strategies.<br> <strong>Methods</strong>: This cross-sectional study included 310 hospitalized patients in 2023. The questionnaire was developed based on existing literature. After that, validity (face validity, content validity, and confirmatory factor analysis) and reliability (Cronbach&rsquo;s &alpha; and McDonald&rsquo;s omega) were assessed. To analyze data, Amos software, version 24, JASP software, version 0.11.1, and SPSS &nbsp;software, version &nbsp;24 were used.<br> <strong>Results</strong>: All participants were women. Scale-content validity index/average for all items was 0.921, and the content validity ratio (CVR) was 0.910. In confirmatory factor analysis, only one item had a factor loading of less than 0.4, and after deleting this item (item 4: The nurse used pictures or visual aids to explain instructions) and based on the goodness-of-fit indices (root mean square error of approximation=0.074, adjusted goodness of fit index: 0.933, parsimonious normed fit index=0.658, and Tucker Lewis index=0.972), the HL nurse&ndash;patient communication questionnaire was confirmed. Based on the reliability results, Cronbach&rsquo;s &alpha; was 0.858, and McDonald&rsquo;s Omega was 0.893.
